Why this matters

Retinopathy of Prematurity is preventable.

Every year, tens of thousands of premature babies lose their sight to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)—a permanent and preventable form of blindness. More of these fragile infants are surviving thanks to improved newborn care, especially in low-resource countries, but survival can come with a higher risk of ROP when screening and treatment are unavailable.
