Building sustainable, locally-driven programs to prevent life-long blindness in babies

By leveraging telemedicine to help local providers diagnose and treat Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), we strive to ensure every child has the gift of vision, no matter where in the world they are born.

What we do

From retinal image acquisition to treatment.

We help local teams build a complete TeleROP pathway—from training and image capture to grading, triage, and treatment expertise.

The TeleROP care pathway

Collaborative Care Delivery

We invest in local capacity building so that an infant in a low- and middle-income country receives the same standard of care as an infant born at Stanford or Harvard.

  1. 01 Bedside Exam

    Capture

Non-physician screeners learn to conduct time-intensive, high-skill retinal screening.

  2. 02 Secure transfer

    Upload

Our bespoke telemedicine platform supports screening, grading, and patient triage.

    03 Clinical review

    Grade

High-quality retinal images are graded remotely by local champions and international pediatric retina experts.

  3. 04 Optimal next step

    Management

After each exam, a baby either graduates from screening, requires repeat screening, or requires emergency treatment.
